About The Event

A short walk from Stony, across the river and fields to Passenham, St. Guthlacs hosts several traditional music ensembles between 3pm and 6pm on Sunday 2nd June. These mainly local musicians will be raising the rafters of this beautiful and unique medieval church in an attempt to soothe the savage breast of Passenham’s late Sir Robert Banastre, notorious 17th century Lord of the Manor, all-round villain, and famous ghost.

Performers include:

3.00pm Beachampton Strictly Recorders, reviving some of the tunes popular in Sir Robert’s time

3.45pm Norfolk duo Iceni Rising, charming the unquiet ghost with their multiple instruments and deft harmonies

4.30pm Beachampton Flute Group, raising the tone with a little Mozart

5.15pm Sherington Folk Band, playing songs and tunes with a local connection

Free entry, although we will be asking for a donation to the St. Guthlacs amenities fund, thank you.

Refreshments available.
